This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Oversee and cultivate long-lasting relationships with designated physicians, extended prescribers, and various customers.
• Represent the assigned Alexion brands and their approved indications.
• Deliver disease and product education to physicians, nurses, and other external stakeholders.
• Consistently meet or surpass sales targets within the designated territory.
• Develop, maintain, and implement strategic business plans tailored to specific accounts.
• Collaborate with Institutional Account Managers, TLLs, SALs, MSLs, FRMs, Market Access, Diagnostics, and other Enterprise partners.
• Effectively handle customer inquiries and objections in alignment with product indications and sales training methodologies.
• Compliantly route inquiries to the appropriate partners.
• Build and sustain comprehensive knowledge of diseases, therapies, clinical practices, and scientific advancements.
• Provide education on diagnostic methods to facilitate accurate patient diagnoses.
• Navigate intricate academic and community hospital environments to connect with targeted healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
• Utilize marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations, to enhance the selling process.
• Spearhead the implementation of a patient-focused partnership model involving physicians, staff, clinics, and relevant hospitals.
• Execute local disease education and promotional initiatives.
• Offer product expertise and customer service to targeted accounts and stakeholders.
• Monitor activities and submit timely, precise sales activity reports.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Proven track record of achieving consistent “Top-tier” sales results.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or related fields, such as biotech or medical devices.
• Neurology experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in building relationships with physicians who refer, diagnose, and/or treat neuromuscular disorders.
• Background in developing relationships with healthcare professionals administering infused therapies and/or apheresis for immunological disorders, when applicable.
• Demonstrated success in educating physicians about complex diseases primarily diagnosed through observation/exclusion.
• Proven ability to educate physicians on diverse patient disease profiles that necessitate complex treatment decisions.
• Ability to establish and/or enhance enduring provider relationships in physician practices and hospitals, even in challenging access situations.
• Competence in managing territory budgets while adhering to Alexion's code of ethics and compliance.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the territory, including frequent overnight and weekend travel.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Capability to travel using public transportation, automobile, train, or plane.
• Comfort in working within a clinical environment.
• Proficient in using a computer and communicating through phone, video, and electronic messaging.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others and maintain general availability during standard business hours.
• A Master's degree in Life Sciences or an MBA is a plus.
• Experience in bio/pharma, Neurology, and/or Ophthalmology is preferred.
• Familiarity with navigating and working within large hospital systems, IDNs, and academic teaching hospitals.
