This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Concentrate on PNH as part of Alexion’s Hematology and Nephrology Franchise.
• Oversee a sales territory that includes Academic Centers, Hospital Systems, private practices, and infusion centers, primarily within Hematology.
• Enhance and expand the PNH portfolio and other products following FDA approval for the relevant specialists.
• Consistently meet or surpass sales targets in the designated territory.
• Develop and sustain strategically targeted, account-specific business plans that reflect local market dynamics.
• Cultivate and maintain robust clinical, technical, and scientific expertise.
• Provide education on clinical methodologies for disease states, differential diagnosis, testing, and treatment.
• Leverage marketing tools and resources, including PowerPoint presentations.
• Collaborate with aHUS RAM(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s), Market Access, FRM(s), PEM(s), Diagnostics, and enterprise partners.
• Spearhead the implementation of a patient-centric partnership model encompassing physicians, staff, patients, clinics, and hospitals.
• Carry out local promotional activities and programs within therapeutic areas.
• Offer product expertise and customer service to accounts.
• Monitor activities and deliver accurate, timely sales reports.
• Demonstrate the proper use of products to clinicians in a hospital setting.
• Address customer inquiries and objections in alignment with product indications and sales training methodology, ensuring compliant triaging of inquiries when necessary.
• Efficiently manage time, CRM tools, resources, and workload.
• Actively engage with Alexion management to refine product and market strategies.
• Conduct oneself professionally, adhering to company policies and the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5 years of pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device) or 5 years of experience in a medical setting.
• Proven track record of delivering consistent, 'Top-tier' sales results within institutions and hospital systems.
• Strong clinical and account selling abilities, along with analytical and strategic skills for account development.
• Demonstrated capability to effectively seek out and qualify leads and profile new accounts.
• Ability to establish consistent access and foster strong professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in the community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
• Must reside within the designated territory or within 50 miles of the territory border.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the territory, including frequent overnight and weekend trips.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Capability to travel via public transport, automobile, train, or plane; work comfortably in clinical environments; utilize a computer; communicate through phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex and non-linear thought processes, analysis, and discussions; collaborate with others; and maintain general availability during standard business hours.
• Advanced or master’s degree is preferred.
• 5 years of pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Sales experience in the orphan or ultra-orphan sector is preferred.
• Background in Bio/pharma; Hematology, and/or Oncology is preferred.
