This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Review the overpayment worklist and manage credit balances.
• Conduct thorough research of claims, payment postings, adjustment postings, and all transactions linked to accounts to identify valid insurance refunds.
• Execute the refund request process for submission to the Finance department.
• Adapt to evolving priorities, procedures, and business needs.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• At least one (1) year of experience in medical office billing, payment posting, and collections, or an equivalent background.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statutes, codes, and standards pertinent to the area of responsibility.
• Familiarity with explanations of benefits (EOBs) from carriers.
• Knowledge of data processing policies, procedures, and concepts.
• Proficient in ICD and CPT coding.
• Experience with computerized medical office billing systems.
• Working knowledge of EMR systems.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when entering information into the Practice Management System.
• Strong customer service skills, including professional interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
• Proficient in Office 365 applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• If required to drive for work purposes, must possess a current valid state driver’s license and meet the minimum auto insurance coverage requirements.
