This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Assess and respond to hospital referrals to identify potential organ/tissue donors.
β’ Implement LifeLink policies and procedures while documenting the timeliness and responses of referrals.
β’ Provide guidance to responding personnel.
β’ Collect information regarding BD, DCD potential, medical suitability, and the order of priority/next of kin.
β’ Take part in the Referral Coordinator call schedule.
β’ Collaborate with FCC and hospital development staff for timely onsite visits in conjunction with the Administrator on Call.
β’ Maintain 24/7 access to a cell phone and computer for real-time documentation.
β’ Work closely with the Administrator on Call, Medical Director, hospitals, management, FCC, transplant coordinators, and development staff.
β’ Assess referrals and make initial suitability assessments.
β’ Confirm donor and next-of-kin information and access the Donor Registry.
β’ Inform on-call team members of potential donor situations.
β’ Review the donation procedure and strategize with hospital personnel.
β’ Monitor active referrals daily and keep documentation updated in iTransplant.
β’ Transition active referrals to the incoming Referral Coordinator in accordance with protocols.
β’ Follow up with hospital development, on-call, FCC, vascular, CSD, and tissue screening personnel.
β’ Triage miscellaneous calls and coordinate with county coroners and state medical examiners.
β’ Assist in the orientation of new staff.
β’ Engage in hospital development initiatives, OPO meetings, special projects, QAPI activities, and assigned responsibilities.
β’ Maintain necessary certifications and/or licenses.
β’ At least one year in a related LifeLink position and/or appropriate credentialing and experience, including a medical-related degree/certification (RN) or equivalent experience in a medical setting.
β’ Fulfillment of all requirements for the probationary level position or relevant experience/position.
β’ Proven above-average verbal communication and phone etiquette skills.
β’ Availability to manage a rotation of 24/7 call responsibilities and emergency backup call coverage.
β’ Understanding the necessity of maintaining confidentiality in accordance with Foundation protocols.
β’ Local/state travel by auto/air is required.
β’ Variable/rotating on-call days/hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
β’ Ability to handle potential high stress/extended hours while on call.
β’ Maintain certifications and/or licenses.
β’ Bachelor's degree or higher.
β’ Full-time remote work arrangement.
