Referral Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact and resource for patients, primary care physicians, and other healthcare providers.

• Manage incoming telephone calls efficiently and professionally.

• Confirm patient benefits and available services.

• Arrange appointments for patients.

• Address patient information inquiries promptly.

• Handle referrals for both new and existing patients.

• Verify insurance coverage and acquire necessary authorizations as required.

• Reach out to referring physicians to gather referral forms.

• Collect additional documents as necessary.

• Log referrals into the computer system.

• Ensure that new patient charts are properly completed.

• Update co-payment information in the computer system.

• Send out new patient information packets.

• Assist with front office tasks as needed.

• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

• Report any suspected compliance issues or violations to a supervisor or the Compliance Department.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.

• Proficient phone etiquette is required.

• Ability to communicate effectively both in person and on the phone.

• Capability to follow up on all forms of communication.

• Proficiency in using computer programs and applications, including Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of healthcare systems operations, such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

• Compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality is necessary.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office is preferred.

• Understanding of insurance processes is advantageous.

• Experience in urology is preferred.

• Must comply with relevant laws, regulations, Solaris Health Code of Conduct, and organizational policies and procedures.

• Must ensure the confidentiality of patients' protected health information.

• Completion of Annual Compliance Training is mandatory.
