This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in a family recruitment initiative for a state-level Migrant Education Program.
• Engage in mandatory project orientation and training sessions.
• Implement approved interview protocols, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Review assigned family details prior to making contact.
• Reach out to referred families and conduct structured interviews following state-sanctioned protocols.
• Clearly articulate the purpose of the interview while communicating with respect and cultural sensitivity.
• Collect and accurately record information pertinent to MEP eligibility using required forms and systems, including MIS2000.
• Document information objectively, refraining from making eligibility interpretations beyond assigned authority.
• Forward eligibility inquiries, conflicting or incomplete information, unusual circumstances, and other issues through the established channels.
• Keep thorough and timely records of outreach efforts, contact attempts, interview status, outcomes, and final resolutions.
• Engage in quality assurance activities, interviewer check-ins, documentation assessments, issue resolution, and corrections.
• Oversee assigned interviews, outreach, and follow-up activities within project deadlines.
• Track workload and communicate any obstacles or concerns to project leadership.
• Experience with the Migrant Education Program, Identification and Recruitment (I&R), or other educational programs aiding mobile or underserved student populations.
• Background in conducting interviews, intake, outreach, eligibility assessments, case management, recruitment, or similar direct engagement with families.
• Capability to adhere to detailed protocols and consistently apply established procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including the capacity to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
• Proficiency in handling confidential and personally identifiable information appropriately.
• Ability to work autonomously while recognizing when consultation or escalation is necessary.
• Strong organizational skills and time-management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple assigned cases concurrently.
• Participation in mandatory training, team meetings, and quality assurance activities.
• Preferred: Familiarity with the Migrant Education Program, eligibility standards, and/or experience in completing or reviewing Certificates of Eligibility.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating with schools, educational agencies, or community-based programs.
• Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish or fluency in another language represented among participating families.
• Preferred: Competence in using electronic data systems and project tracking tools.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Must pass a criminal background check and education verification.
