This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Take full ownership of hiring pipelines from start to finish across research, engineering, communications, and operations.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of People and hiring managers from all teams.
• Define new roles, identifying ideal candidates, essential qualifications, and realistic timelines.
• Create interview processes and manage hiring rounds from crafting job descriptions to issuing signed offers.
• Promote roles, seek referrals, and actively source candidates through networks, job boards, communities, and direct outreach.
• Develop skills assessments and screening filters that reflect actual job tasks.
• Manage candidate communications with prompt, friendly, and comprehensive responses.
• Review a high volume of applications in the ATS and align evaluations with hiring teams.
• Oversee 5–10 concurrent hiring rounds, including managing pipelines, scheduling, budgets, and decision timelines.
• Organize interviews and paid work trials.
• As a Senior Recruiter, be responsible for hiring analytics decisions and recommend budgets for hiring rounds.
• 1–2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in a small or early-stage organization, or 3+ years for a Senior Recruiter role.
• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems; the company utilizes Lever.
• Willingness to experiment with AI tools in your workflow.
• Understanding of the AI research landscape and related research/nonprofit communities.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Ability to provide transparent reasoning and explain judgment calls to hiring managers.
• High degree of autonomy and capacity to independently seek solutions.
• Willingness to travel; participation in three team retreats per year is highly encouraged.
• Professional-level proficiency in English.
