Reading Interventionist – Term of Project

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Conduct virtual reading intervention sessions in small groups and one-on-one, emphasizing phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

β€’ Administer and utilize diagnostic assessments, such as Renaissance Star, Oral Reading Fluency, and Core Phonics Screeners, to determine student needs.

β€’ Create and execute personalized learning objectives while regularly monitoring progress.

β€’ Gather and evaluate student data to assess advancement towards established goals.

β€’ Keep precise records of interventions, student performance, and communications.

β€’ Employ online resources like IXL and digital reading platforms to enhance instruction and reinforce skills.

β€’ Report results to administrators and aid in schoolwide literacy enhancement initiatives.

β€’ Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education personnel, and administrators to synchronize intervention strategies with core teaching methods.

β€’ Engage in grade-level team discussions to assess student performance and decide on future actions.

β€’ Interact with families regarding progress, offer at-home reading practice resources, and foster partnerships.

β€’ Execute additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Must be highly qualified and certified to teach in Kansas.

β€’ K-8 certification is preferred.

β€’ Experience in early literacy and intervention is preferred.

β€’ Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

β€’ Demonstrated organizational skills and punctuality.

β€’ A focus on students and families.

β€’ High adaptability and flexibility.

β€’ Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

β€’ A history of being a collaborative team member.

β€’ Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from varied backgrounds.

β€’ Ability to work remotely while occasionally traveling for in-person meetings and assessments.

β€’ Must possess a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
