RCM, Collections Specialist, Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Timely and accurate submission of invoices to payers for products and services rendered.

• Assess received payments and accurately allocate them to patient accounts.

• Ensure that secondary billing and patient invoices are dispatched within 48 hours of payment receipt.

• Inform the Reimbursement Manager regarding overpayments and duplicate payments.

• Transfer payments that belong to other offices within a 48-hour timeframe.

• Conduct follow-ups on submitted invoices to guarantee prompt payment.

• Verify claims were received and are currently being processed through phone calls.

• Dispatch letters to patients or responsible parties if insurers do not make payments within a reasonable timeframe.

• Generate and send statements and collection letters.

• Follow up on any denials within 48 hours of their receipt.

• Assist with training related to Billing and Collection.

• Complete second-level appeals to payers.

• Ensure compliance with contract terms, fee schedules, and HIPAA guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• 0 – 6 months of prior experience in Infusion Reimbursement or Intake/Admissions.

• Applicants must currently reside in the Eastern Time Zone to be eligible.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines when accessing and sharing patient information.

• Understand terms and fee schedules pertaining to contracts.

• Assess quantities and pricing for billed drugs.

• Confirm that services and products have the necessary authorizations and required documentation is available.
