RCM, Collections Specialist, Medical Biller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Timely and accurate submission of invoices to payers for products and services.

• Comprehend contract terms and fee schedules associated with the submitted invoices.

• Assess quantities and pricing for billed drugs.

• Confirm that services and products are authorized and that necessary documentation is on file.

• Review received payments for accuracy and apply them correctly to patient accounts.

• Dispatch secondary bills and patient invoices within 48 hours of payment receipt.

• Inform the Reimbursement Manager regarding overpayments and duplicate payments.

• Transfer payments meant for other offices within 48 hours.

• Follow up on submitted invoices to ensure timely payment.

• Verify that claims were received and are currently being processed.

• Send correspondence to patients or responsible parties if insurers do not pay within a reasonable timeframe.

• Generate and distribute statements and collection letters.

• Follow up on denials within 48 hours.

• Assist in Billing and Collection Training.

• Complete second-level appeals to payers.

• Ensure compliance with contract terms, fee schedules, and HIPAA guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must currently reside in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zone to be considered.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• 0 to 6 months of prior Infusion Reimbursement or Intake/Admissions experience.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient/business confidentiality.

• Understanding of payer contracts and fee schedules.

• Capability to assess quantities and pricing for billed drugs.

• Ability to verify authorizations and necessary documentation.
