This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance the audit and qualification program for raw material and packaging suppliers, which includes ingredient providers, packaging partners, and third-party warehouses.
• Spearhead the onboarding and qualification process for new raw material and packaging suppliers, executing both remote and on-site audits in compliance with cGMP, FSMA, GFSI, and internal standards.
• Create a standard requirement for raw materials and establish KPI measurements, aligning with the Ryze Above standard to enhance raw material inspections and performance.
• Manage raw material specifications and technical documentation, promoting excellence in spec format and ensuring the quality and completeness of Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
• Guarantee the implementation and maintenance of RYZE's specifications standards.
• Establish and oversee the raw material risk assessment process and audit schedule, which addresses food safety, allergens, country of origin, financial, and additional risk factors.
• Handle raw material deviations and non-conformances, leading root cause analyses and CAPA initiatives to resolve persistent supplier issues.
• Administer supplier quality agreements and Supplier Quality Questionnaires (SQQs), ensuring documentation is up-to-date and ready for audits.
• Develop and track KPIs for raw material supplier performance and audit results, contributing to the broader Quality data and reporting cadence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, NPD, and the Senior Quality Manager on approvals of new suppliers, product modifications, and new product launches.
• Report directly to the VP of Quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in supplier or raw material quality within food, beverage, or dietary supplement manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of cGMP (21 CFR Parts 111 & 117), FSMA, HACCP, GFSI, and FSVP regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in auditing and qualifying raw material, packaging, and co-manufacturing suppliers.
• Proficient in managing non-conformances, CAPA, root cause analysis, and supplier risk assessments.
• Willingness to travel for supplier audits (up to approximately 30%) and experience working with eQMS platforms (e.g., Qualio).
