Rating Specialist, Middle Market

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage New Business and/or Renewal Rating transactions for two or more lines of business within the Middle Market or Specialty Lines.

• Assess incoming business transactions and associated information for completeness, accuracy, and quality.

• Collaborate with Underwriters, Underwriting Technicians, or Associates to rectify discrepancies and process transactions promptly.

• Execute rating for New or Renewal business quotes across various lines of business.

• Conduct manual rating tasks for coverages not supported by the system.

• Collect third-party data and insurance application information for predictive modeling tools that aid in risk selection and pricing decisions.

• Review exposures, loss history, and other account details to guarantee accurate data entry into underwriting tools and models.

• Evaluate department processing guidelines and procedures, suggesting modifications as necessary.

• Identify workflow activities needed to process insurance policies based on the line of business.

• Address policy service requests from Underwriters, Underwriter Associates, and/or Underwriting Technicians across multiple lines of Middle Market business.

• Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Report to a Supervisor or higher authority.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

• Generally, a minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-line Commercial Specialty lines or prior Rating/Underwriting roles.

• Familiarity with the insurance industry and products and services such as Auto, Workers Comp, Package, and Specialty lines within Commercial business.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Demonstrated performance against goals and metrics.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work with a strong sense of urgency.

• Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with proficient experience specifically in Excel and other business-related software.

• Ability to analyze available data, guidelines, and metrics to make logical, well-informed, creative, and effective decisions.

• Takes ownership and responsibility for timely issue resolution.
