This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +4 more countries.
β’ Select, modify, and evaluate quantum error-correcting codes and protocols while considering realistic constraints of neutral-atom hardware.
β’ Develop and assess decoding techniques and measure QEC performance in the context of realistic noise models.
β’ Create and uphold logical error models and error budgets linked to physical noise models, experimental data, and internal emulators.
β’ Participate in the design and evaluation of fault-tolerant logical operations and strategies for logical gates.
β’ Provide insights driven by QEC for future QPU architecture design, encompassing layout, zoning, connectivity, and operational scheduling constraints.
β’ Develop and sustain QEC simulation tools that align with internal models and assumptions.
β’ Prepare reports, technical documents, and scientific publications.
β’ Assist in identifying and safeguarding patentable technical concepts.
β’ Represent Pasqal at international conferences, workshops, and industry events.
β’ A PhD or equivalent experience in quantum error correction, fault-tolerant quantum computing, or a related discipline.
β’ A robust understanding of quantum error-correcting codes, decoding techniques, and fault-tolerant protocols.
β’ An interest in neutral-atom platforms and the ability to factor in realistic hardware constraints in QEC research.
β’ Strong programming capabilities for scientific computing, including proficiency in Python, data analysis, and simulation workflows.
β’ Experience in leading small technical projects, inclusive of planning, prioritization, and execution, is advantageous.
β’ A high degree of autonomy and attention to detail.
β’ Capability to work at the intersection of theory, numerical simulation, and experimental limitations.
β’ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
β’ Excellent communication and listening skills.
β’ Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
