Quality Engineer – Mid-Level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive functional testing of software applications.

• Develop and uphold detailed test cases, test plans, test data, and testing documentation utilizing case management tools like Testmo.

• Execute test cases to ensure functionality, usability, and reliability across various platforms and devices.

• Implement automated UI or API tests and assess the results.

• Evaluate application readiness using cross-browser tools such as BrowserStack.

• Establish testing plans based on application releases, environments, and features included.

• Identify, document, report, prioritize, and track software defects.

• Conduct root cause analysis of identified issues.

• Carry out regression testing.

• Work independently to define and execute testing plans.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, clients, and cross-functional teams.

• Document and disseminate testing best practices and lessons learned.

• Enhance testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.

• Design, develop, and sustain automated mobile UI tests for iOS and Android using tools such as Maestro, Appium, Patrol, or Flutter integration tests.

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Codemagic.

• Execute tests on emulators, simulators, and real device clouds like BrowserStack.

• Monitor pipeline results, triage failures, minimize flakiness, and offer actionable insights for automation.

• Utilize AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot for test design, generation, automation scripting, and defect analysis.

• Build, maintain, and share reusable AI skills and agent workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer.

• Strong understanding and practical experience with functional testing techniques, including test case design, execution, defect reporting, and regression testing.

• Ability to think critically and analyze complex scenarios to create effective test cases.

• Capacity to plan and operate independently.

• Keen attention to detail when verifying application behavior and test documentation.

• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, investigate defects, and propose solutions.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

• Proven proficiency with testing tools, bug tracking systems, and test case management tools.

• Familiarity with UI and API automated testing frameworks.

• Hands-on experience in building and maintaining mobile UI automation for iOS and Android.

• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, including test reporting and failure analysis.

• Practical experience using AI assistants and agents in QA processes, including creating or customizing skills, prompts, or MCP-based workflows.

• Sound judgment in validating AI-generated results.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
