Quality Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Ensure the provision of high-quality technology solutions through manual testing and quality assurance methodologies.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to validate requirements, enhance user stories, establish acceptance criteria, and confirm functional, integration, and business expectations.

• Oversee testing efforts for medium to large-scale projects.

• Create testing strategies and design, implement, and document comprehensive test scenarios.

• Maintain a clear link between requirements and testing results.

• Identify risks, document and manage defects, and provide quality reporting.

• Mentor Quality Engineers while advocating for continuous improvement and quality standards.

• Deliver test strategies, planning, test design/development, automation, and execution.

• Integrate quality practices into continuous delivery workflows.

• Offer test development and automation support throughout the development and design phases.

• Assess testing impacts across various delivery teams.

• Identify and mitigate risks while validating business outcomes.

• Develop optimized testing approaches and tooling strategies.

• Utilize virtual assets for incomplete or unavailable code, services, and databases.

• Implement testing tools, processes, resources, frameworks, and automation for both functional and non-functional testing.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD/CT pipelines.

• Identify reusable test assets and enhance testing efficiencies.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration to evaluate user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definitions of Done/Ready.

• Coach and mentor others on BDD/TDD principles.

• Support test architecture and troubleshoot automation frameworks across delivery teams.

• Ensure source code quality and contribute to built-in quality during design and development phases.

• Conduct reviews of test assets for quality, compliance with standards, reusability, and maintainability.

• Analyze quality data, suggest improvements, and implement remediation plans.

• Manage risks, governance issues, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder relationships.

• Share knowledge of quality engineering, support team development, and stay updated on emerging trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong academic foundation in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.

• Experience with Encompass is preferred.

• Background in Residential Mortgage and/or Home Equity Lending is preferred.

• Experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Software Testing.

• Strong proficiency in manual functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

• Proficient with quality management and defect tracking tools, such as JIRA and JTMF.

• Advanced knowledge of test architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures.

• Extensive experience in software configuration, code, and release management.

• Familiarity with test automation, BDD/TDD, CI/CD/CT pipelines, test data management, virtualization, performance, accessibility, security, and reliability testing.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and mentorship abilities.

• Capability to independently lead testing efforts across multiple teams.

• Ability to work autonomously on complex application and solution issues.

• Understanding of architecture blueprints, diagrams, and logical data models.

• Willingness to travel domestically on occasion; international travel is not required.
