Quality Engineer II, Energy Storage – Warranty Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive administration of warranty claims for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects.

• Manage the intake, triage, tracking, evaluation, prioritization, assignment, and closure of BESS warranty claims.

• Ensure that warranty requests include all necessary documentation, troubleshooting records, photographs, and supporting information.

• Review warranty eligibility and coordinate corrective measures with project teams, suppliers, OEMs, subcontractors, and field operations.

• Allocate resources and drive repair, replacement, or remediation initiatives.

• Maintain claim status and ensure prompt follow-up, escalation, and resolution.

• Communicate with customers and O&M teams regarding claim progress, corrective actions, and anticipated closure dates.

• Monitor response times, aging claims, and performance metrics.

• Maintain warranty management records and generate reports on claim volume, status, root causes, recurring issues, and budgets.

• Identify trends, serial defects, and systemic equipment issues, coordinating corrective action plans as needed.

• Support project closeout and warranty handoff processes.

• Verify the completion of corrective actions and obtain customer or O&M confirmation prior to closing warranty events.

• Enhance warranty processes, workflows, and reporting to improve customer experience and decrease claim cycle times.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least two years of experience in design, engineering, construction, or other related sectors.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Familiarity with large cranes, mechanical systems, and utility-based medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.

• Solid understanding of optical fiber installation, standards, and best practices for both inside and outside plant operations.

• Knowledge of the design-bid-build process.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Proficient in computer usage.

• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Strong orientation towards teamwork.

• Basic understanding of construction processes, systems, and project management.

• Valid driver's license.

• Willingness to travel.

• Must currently be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status.
