Quality Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Address daily quality concerns related to fabrication, assembly, cycle testing, and inventory rejections.

• Drive corrective actions to resolve quality issues in collaboration with Production, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain.

• Generate reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data to highlight and communicate the primary quality challenges.

• Employ PFMEA to pinpoint risks in new processes and implement measures to mitigate those risks.

• Establish acceptance criteria requirements, which include visual aids and standards.

• Assess non-conforming purchased parts and document outcomes to facilitate effective communication with suppliers.

• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of internally fabricated metal components.

• Evaluate component capabilities for modifications, new product launches, and analyses of non-conforming parts/root causes.

• Execute incoming inspections of high-risk purchased parts for functional, visual, and dimensional compliance.

• Identify opportunities to enhance incoming inspection testing methods and documentation.

• Lead Layered Process Audits and implement countermeasures for unfavorable audit results.

• Adhere to the requirements outlined in the Alto-Shaam Quality Management System.

• Assist in internal auditing activities as the Lead Auditor.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal abilities.

• Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills.

• Capability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.

• Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, and other standard inspection devices.

• Familiarity with vision systems/CMMs is a plus.

• Strong analytical capabilities.

• Ability to gather and analyze data to identify and resolve issues.

• Competence in understanding and conveying basic technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficient in reading engineering drawings.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

• Good manual dexterity for handling tools, controls, and testing equipment.

• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach within arm's length, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

• Capacity to lift at least 50 pounds.
