This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate closely with Ciena’s internal and external clients as well as Global Quality engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Monitor and pinpoint the root causes of customer-impacting issues identified both internally and externally.
• Lead cross-functional teams to comprehend how issues occurred and implement preventive measures upstream.
• Develop comprehensive integrated processes for hardware and software.
• Serve as a subject matter expert within the Global Quality Team.
• Connect Ciena R&D teams, Supply Chain, PLM, and customer-facing Quality Management activities.
• Engage in and prepare for customer reviews.
• Analyze and relay customer results to relevant teams.
• Work directly with account teams and customers to understand their needs.
• Track and report metrics related to continuous quality improvements.
• Foster a collaborative, cross-functional approach to addressing customer quality issues.
• Suggest and execute modifications to quality assurance processes.
• Participate in daily Quality activities supporting the Global Customer base.
• Review requirements with developers and other Quality engineers to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Engage in established testing processes and methodologies.
• Collaborate with departmental staff to meet Quality team goals.
• Undertake additional tasks and special projects as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated quality experience.
• Documented training and certifications are preferred.
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often with evolving requirements.
• Comfortable presenting to executive stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Detail-oriented and dependable.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision and direction.
• Experience in identifying the root causes of defects within a complex platform environment.
• A strong and evident desire to pursue a career in Quality Engineering.
• Proficient in statistical analysis and data interpretation practices.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.
• Familiarity with telecom equipment and the industry is advantageous.
• Strong technical capabilities.
• Ability to excel in a collaborative environment where virtual teams achieve results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strategic partnerships.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Energetic team player who thrives in collaborative settings.
• Previous experience with SQL, Salesforce, and JIRA.
