Quality Assurance Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts derived from Appian requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and security constraints.

• Perform functional, regression, system integration, accessibility, and end-to-end testing for Appian applications implemented in AGC or ADC environments.

• Validate Appian components including interfaces, records, expression rules, process models, data types, document generation, and record security.

• Assess Appian integrations, APIs, secure authentication flows (SAML, CAC, PKI), and connections to USCG enterprise systems.

• Confirm adherence to USCG cybersecurity policies, NIST standards, FedRAMP requirements, and DoD IL4/IL5 security guidelines.

• Analyze logging, auditing, escalation paths, and exception-handling workflows.

• Detect defects, document issues, and monitor resolutions through change management processes.

• Engage in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) alongside Coast Guard stakeholders.

• Assist Agile development processes including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Track regression impacts and propose enhancements to testing coverage.

• Ensure that testing results and documentation comply with USCG quality assurance, security, and configuration management standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capability to acquire and maintain one.

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.

• Practical experience in testing Appian applications, including workflows, integrations, and interface components.

• Experience in supporting applications within secure federal cloud environments (AGC, ADC, FedRAMP, DoD-authorized cloud environments).

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies and tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.

• Capability to operate within structured, compliance-oriented environments with stringent security and testing protocols.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
