Quality Assurance Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts derived from Appian requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and security constraints.

• Perform functional, regression, system integration, accessibility, and end-to-end testing for Appian applications deployed within AGC or ADC environments.

• Assess Appian elements including interfaces, records, expression rules, process models, data types, document generation, and record security.

• Test Appian integrations, APIs, secure authentication mechanisms (SAML, CAC, PKI), and connections to USCG enterprise systems.

• Ensure adherence to USCG cybersecurity policies, NIST standards, FedRAMP requirements, and DoD IL4/IL5 security protocols.

• Review logging, auditing, escalation procedures, and exception-handling workflows.

• Detect defects, document issues, and monitor resolutions through formal change management processes.

• Engage in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) alongside Coast Guard stakeholders.

• Assist in Agile development practices such as daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Observe regression effects and suggest enhancements to testing coverage.

• Confirm that testing outcomes and documentation align with USCG quality assurance, security, and configuration management standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.

• At least a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or the capacity to acquire and maintain one.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.

• Practical experience in testing Appian applications, including workflows, integrations, and interface components.

• Experience in supporting applications within secure federal cloud environments (AGC, ADC, FedRAMP, DoD-authorized cloud environments).

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies and tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.

• Capacity to operate in structured, compliance-oriented environments with stringent security and testing protocols.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• Preferred: Appian Certified Analyst, Designer, or Developer (Associate/Senior).

• Preferred: Experience with federal or DoD systems, especially mission-critical or operational systems.

• Preferred: Understanding of USCG operational requirements, system environments, or enterprise architecture.

• Preferred: Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, DoD cybersecurity policies, or STIG requirements.

• Preferred: Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI) or test automation frameworks.

• Preferred: Active Public Trust, Secret, or higher clearance.
