Quality Assurance Manager – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the quality system for all markets outside the US.

• Oversee product release, specifications, complaints and adverse events, incident management, contract manufacturer supervision, stability, and transit qualification.

• Develop and manage Quality Management System processes for EU products to ensure compliance with EU and local market regulations throughout the product lifecycle.

• Identify where international quality responsibilities should be allocated, establish the necessary processes, and ensure their operation.

• Collaborate with Regulatory, Supply Chain, Operations, external manufacturers, and 3PL partners.

• Act as the escalation point for issues arising in international markets.

• Verify specifications, COAs, manufacturing documents, deviations, and market-specific requirements prior to releasing finished products.

• Manage consumer complaint intake and triage across levels 1, 2, and 3.

• Establish and operate traceability, recall/withdrawal, mock recall, complaint, adverse-event, and food safety incident processes for EU products.

• Oversee supplier and contract manufacturer qualification, which includes Quality Agreements, audits, CAPAs/SCARs, deviations, change controls, investigations, and performance monitoring.

• Conduct BMT testing and supervise microbiological, chemical, allergen, contaminant, nutritional, and stability testing, including OOS/OOT investigations and third-party labs.

• Evaluate quality and regulatory risks for formulation, ingredient, supplier, process, specification, packaging, and labeling changes prior to shipment.

• Partner with Regulatory Affairs to ensure market-specific compliance regarding formulations, specifications, labels, claims, and packaging.

• Supervise quality for international manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, distribution partners, and 3PLs.

• Establish and track international quality KPIs while maintaining audit readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of quality assurance experience in food, beverage, dietary supplement, or consumer health sectors.

• Significant experience with products marketed outside the US.

• Practical EU and international quality experience spanning multiple regulatory jurisdictions.

• Familiarity with EU food and food supplement quality standards, including GMP, food safety regulations, HACCP, traceability and recall, allergen management, specifications, supplier and contract manufacturer controls, analytical testing, stability, change control, product release, labeling, and claims oversight.

• Experience across various EU member states is a considerable advantage.

• Expertise in CAPAs, investigations, root cause analysis, specification development, document control, and change control.

• Proven experience in qualifying, auditing, and managing external manufacturers and co-packers.

• Experience in leading or significantly contributing to a recall, withdrawal, or market action.

• Familiarity with stability protocols and managing third-party laboratories.

• Capability to collaborate across US, UK/EU, and Asia time zones with distributed teams and external partners.
