Quality Assurance Manager – Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Oversee, implement, and sustain the quality assurance program in alignment with commercial nuclear industry standards, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1, and relevant regulatory, customer, and contractual obligations.

• Ensure that products, services, and processes fulfill nuclear quality, safety, and compliance standards.

• Assist with audits, supplier qualifications, corrective actions, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Supervise project QA programs and their respective elements.

• Manage the development and retention of staff, set work goals and objectives, and assess employee performance.

• Offer direction, guidance, and training to QA and QC personnel.

• Establish performance standards and evaluate progress toward objectives.

• Plan, schedule, and execute QA activities.

• Create project QA plans and lead efforts for QA implementation.

• Analyze customer contracts to determine QA requirements.

• Develop and revise policies and procedures to ensure compliance with QA standards.

• Monitor updates to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

• Prepare responses and corrective action plans, ensuring verification of corrective-action execution.

• Conduct Apparent Cause Analyses and Root Cause Analyses for quality-related issues.

• Review and authorize nonconformance and condition reports.

• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, business, and project management teams throughout the nuclear project lifecycle.

• Liaise with customers, regulators, and third-party auditors to demonstrate compliance and resolve quality-related concerns.

• Develop and implement schedules for internal audits, management assessments, and surveillance activities.

• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance quality performance, minimize risk, and bolster the nuclear safety culture.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of ten (10) years of QA oversight experience in the Commercial Nuclear industry.

• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50, Appendix B, NRC RG 1.28, and NQA-1.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant quality-related codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Comprehensive understanding of how to prescribe, apply, and evaluate compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and/or oversee QA activities associated with a discipline or project on a daily basis.

• Solid knowledge of QA systems, including corrective actions and supplier qualifications.

• Intermediate proficiency in developing QA program/procedural documents.

• Ability to administer, facilitate, and deliver Commercial Nuclear Training.

• Certification as a lead auditor per NQA-1.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
