Quality Assurance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and take charge of the QA strategy for the NedGraphics and Optitex product lines.

• Spearhead the strategic evolution of QA into a contemporary, automation-centric, AI-driven operation with a clear roadmap and milestones.

• Foster a culture focused on quality within the team and the broader engineering organization.

• Create standards, processes, and quality checkpoints for product launches.

• Collaborate with engineering leaders and Product Managers to incorporate QA throughout the development lifecycle.

• Define team objectives and nurture individual growth.

• Oversee performance management, conduct 1:1 meetings, and facilitate career progression for 5 QA engineers.

• Enhance automation coverage across the product range.

• Establish the automation roadmap and guide the current automation engineer.

• Identify and implement AI-assisted testing tools.

• Decrease dependency on manual regression testing.

• Contribute to test design, execution, and defect analysis for complex features.

• Maintain close alignment with the product portfolio to uphold testing quality standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record in leading or managing a QA team, with a focus on building or significantly transforming a QA function from the ground up.

• Demonstrated success in creating or executing a QA strategy, rather than merely adhering to one; history of setting the direction independently.

• Hands-on experience in software testing; capable of taking on a player-coach role.

• Extensive experience in testing native desktop applications.

• Familiarity with at least one test automation framework for UI desktop applications, such as WinAppDriver, Appium, Squish by Qt Group, or similar.

• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for developing and maintaining test automation.

• Ability to integrate the automation framework into a broader AI agentic-based build flow, utilizing tools like Azure DevOps, Cursor, and Claude cloud agents.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to influence engineers, PMs, and senior stakeholders.

• Proven history of enhancing QA processes and achieving measurable outcomes.

• Experience working efficiently across multiple time zones with a globally distributed team, including asynchronous collaboration and flexible scheduling.

• Previous experience in leading a team, with a clear methodology for setting direction, delegating tasks, and fostering development.

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or a strong interest in adopting them.

• Background in software product companies, preferably with desktop application portfolios.

• Exposure to agile or scrum delivery methodologies.

• Experience in developing an automation capability from the ground up.

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps for work item tracking, test plans, and pipeline integration.
