Quality Assurance Engineer – Manual, API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop, design, and implement comprehensive manual test scenarios, functional assessments, and regression test suites.

• Assess platform stability post-deployment and after feature launches.

• Evaluate REST APIs and confirm backend service integrations utilizing Postman.

• Validate system responses, data formats, and compliance with contracts across RESTful services.

• Run SQL queries for data verification, defect analysis, data-flow troubleshooting, and backend state checks.

• Conduct accessibility audits and feature evaluations in alignment with WCAG standards.

• Document, monitor, and manage bugs, test executions, and workflow discrepancies within Jira.

• Ensure traceability from product requirements to defect resolution.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Convert business requirements and product specifications into detailed test strategies.

• Analyze application logs and system events to identify performance or functional bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support to guarantee dependable product releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional QA experience, emphasizing manual testing, end-to-end workflows, and user functionality.

• Proficient in interpreting product requirements, identifying business challenges, and converting them into testing scenarios, validation plans, and regression suites.

• Practical experience in testing REST APIs and confirming backend integrations/services using Postman.

• Strong SQL capabilities for backend data validation, troubleshooting, and test confirmation.

• Extensive background in documenting defects, test outcomes, and workflow challenges using Jira.

• Practical knowledge of WCAG standards and accessibility testing tools.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum settings and involvement in sprint cycles, testing sessions, and release validation.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.

• Familiarity with using Datadog for log analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of Kafka and asynchronous workflow validation.

• Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

• General knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment procedures, and release validation.

• Previous experience with SaaS platforms or intricate customer-facing/employer-facing applications.

• Proficiency in English for interviews, documentation, and daily interactions.
