Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Conduct both manual and automated testing on both existing and new applications, including internal systems for origination, underwriting, and servicing, as well as customer- and dealer-facing portals.

• Create, execute, and maintain test cases and automated testing scripts across both legacy and current platforms.

• Analyze test data and results to pinpoint defects, determine root causes, and document technical issues for engineering teams.

• Work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to recreate issues, clarify requirements, and validate fixes.

• Engage in Agile Scrum activities such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, story reviews, and retrospectives.

• Develop and enhance automated test coverage utilizing a test automation framework.

• Assess and implement AI-assisted testing methodologies, including AI-generated test cases, self-healing test scripts, and intelligent test selection/prioritization.

• Leverage AI-based tools to expedite the analysis of test results, logs, and failure patterns.

• Monitor and manage defects using the team's bug-tracking system, detailing reproduction steps, severity, and impact evaluations.

• Facilitate regression testing across releases that impact internal tools and customer/dealer-facing applications.

• Identify bottlenecks in the QA process and suggest enhancements to processes, workflows, or tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, quality assurance, or an engineering emphasis, or equivalent experience preferred.

• 4–6 years of experience in software quality assurance, which includes both manual and automated testing.

• Experience testing web applications; comfort with both legacy and modern platforms is essential.

• Familiarity with a test automation framework and scripting for automated tests.

• Strong willingness and capability to adopt AI-assisted testing tools and techniques, such as AI-generated test cases, self-healing automation scripts, AI-driven test prioritization, and log/anomaly analysis.

• Experience with a bug-tracking or test-management tool is required.

• Basic SQL skills for data validation are necessary.

• Proven experience in working within Agile Scrum teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to isolate root causes across multi-system workflows.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting defects and collaborating with a distributed team.

• Experience in testing applications within financial services, lending, or equipment leasing is preferred.

• Familiarity with API testing is preferred.

• Experience testing web portals for customers or dealers is preferred.
