Quality Assurance, Data Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, validation, and quality assurance of data pipelines and integration workflows within the Halo enterprise cloud platform.

• Confirm the onboarding, ingestion, transformation, and downstream availability of data.

• Aid in the development and testing of Halo use cases focused on analytics.

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data transitioned from legacy on-premises systems to cloud architectures.

• Validate advanced analytics outputs against functional, technical, and business specifications.

• Test and confirm AI agent use cases for accuracy, consistency, and intended functionality.

• Develop traceable test cases and scripts based on requirements, source-to-target mappings, and use-case documentation.

• Conduct functional, integration, regression, backend, and data-level testing.

• Carry out SQL-based validations of tables, transformations, and aggregations within Delta Lake and Databricks.

• Identify, document, track, and prioritize defects with comprehensive reproduction steps.

• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and address defects.

• Maintain test documentation, traceability matrices, and test execution evidence to meet FISMA High audit and compliance requirements.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative testing cycles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in software or data quality assurance testing, encompassing test case design and execution.

• Extensive experience in functional, integration, regression, and backend/data testing.

• Proficient SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries, joins, and aggregations.

• Capacity to identify defects early and communicate them effectively to technical teams.

• Experience in testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or migrating data from legacy systems to cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with Databricks and AWS, including Delta tables and data lakehouse concepts.

• Experience in developing and maintaining test cases, test plans, and traceability documentation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen focus on data accuracy, consistency, and edge cases.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional, matrixed teams.

• Preferred: Experience in testing or validating AI/ML model outputs or AI agent-based use cases.

• Preferred: Knowledge of medallion architecture and modern data lakehouse design.

• Preferred: Experience with test automation tools and frameworks for data or API testing.

• Preferred: Background in FISMA High, FedRAMP, or other regulated multi-tenant federal environments.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
