This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end functional test scripts.

• Ensure that automated test cases are ready for execution by the conclusion of each Agile sprint for the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline.

• Create test cases prior to code development to support Test-Driven Development.

• Evaluate test automation coverage and contribute to the Test Automation State Assessment Report as well as the automation completion plan.

• Automate legacy test cases to broaden regression coverage across the DEERS application portfolio.

• Develop and uphold Requirements Traceability Matrices at the end of each development cycle or sprint.

• Assist in the creation of UAT plans, scenarios, and scripts for acceptance testing by the Government and external partners.

• Document test activities, results, and defects in the Government-provided Test Case Management System.

• Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions.

• Engage in mandatory code reviews at 50%, 75%, and 90% completion of development.

• Monitor and enforce quality thresholds.

• Triage and track defects in JIRA, analyze issues, replicate errors, and escalate to product teams.

• Support weekly defect escalation reporting to customers and the Government Product Owner.

• Assist with security scanning using Fortify, Sonatype, and BURP.

• Review and document code scan results before production releases and upon changes to rule packs or STIGs.

• Conduct WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing.

• Aid in the preparation of VPATs, remediation reports, and conformance documentation.

• Perform Section 508 compliance testing and report status in the Monthly Status Report.

• Assist with stress and load testing in the ProdSim environment.

• Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing with technical and operations teams.

• Support Independent Verification & Validation during UAT prior to production deployment.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Maintain sprint defect tracking, test completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA.

• Adhere to deployment pipeline standards and quality gates.

• Contribute QA metrics and status to the Monthly Quality Status Report.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2 years of experience with a BS/BA; 0 years with an MS/MA; or 6 years with a high school diploma.

• Must obtain and maintain public trust clearance.

• IAM/IAT Level II certification required: CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CompTIA CySA+, or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).

• Experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles is essential.

• Foundational knowledge of test automation principles.

• Experience in writing automated test scripts using at least one automation framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps principles.

• Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.

• Understanding of unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing lifecycles.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Ability to clearly and accurately document test results.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with developers, leads, and Government stakeholders.

• Preferred: ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Preferred: Exposure to Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP.

• Preferred: Experience in Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ServiceNow.

• Preferred: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration within a DevSecOps environment.

• Preferred: Exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL database environments.

• Preferred: Previous experience with DoD or Federal government IT programs.
