This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, implement, and maintain automated testing scripts for unit, integration, and comprehensive functional testing.

• Ensure that automated test cases are ready for execution by the conclusion of each Agile sprint and are delivered to the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline.

• Collaborate with software developers to write test cases before code development, supporting Test-Driven Development practices.

• Evaluate test automation coverage and contribute to the Test Automation State Assessment Report and the automation completion project plan.

• Automate related legacy test cases to broaden regression test coverage across the DEERS application portfolio.

• Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices at the end of each development cycle or sprint.

• Assist in creating UAT plans, test scenarios, and test scripts for acceptance testing by the Government and external partners.

• Document test activities, results, and defect findings in the Government-provided Test Case Management System.

• Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions.

• Engage in mandatory code reviews at 50%, 75%, and 90% completion of development.

• Monitor and uphold stringent quality thresholds.

• Triage and track defects using JIRA, analyze issues, replicate errors, and assist with escalation reporting.

• Support application security scanning using Fortify, Sonatype, and BURP.

• Review and document code scan results prior to production releases and when rule packs or STIGs are modified.

• Conduct accessibility testing against WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards.

• Aid in the creation of VPATs, remediation reports, and Section 508 compliance documentation.

• Support stress and load testing in the ProdSim environment.

• Assist with Disaster Recovery testing.

• Support IV&V of application changes in the UAT environment prior to production deployment.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Maintain sprint-level defect tracking, test case completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA.

• Adhere to deployment pipeline standards and quality gates.

• Contribute QA metrics and status updates to the Monthly Quality Status Report.


⛳️ Requirements

• 0 years of experience with a BS/BA; 4 years of experience with a high school diploma.

• Ability to obtain and maintain public trust clearance.

• Must obtain IAM/IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+).

• Experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles.

• Foundational knowledge of test automation principles and experience in writing automated test scripts using at least one automation framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevSecOps principles.

• Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.

• Understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Ability to document test results in a clear and precise manner.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with developers, leads, and Government stakeholders.

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent is preferred.

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development practices is preferred.

• Exposure to Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP is preferred.

• Experience with Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing is preferred.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow is preferred.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration within a DevSecOps environment is preferred.

• Exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL database environments is preferred.

• Previous experience supporting DoD or Federal government IT programs is preferred.
