QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and sustain test frameworks, harnesses, and reusable patterns utilized across engineering teams.

• Broaden the shared end-to-end test suite that addresses essential shopping journeys while ensuring high reliability within CI pipelines.

• Conduct targeted regression testing before production releases.

• Collaborate directly with software engineers to improve their unit and integration testing methodologies.

• Utilize AI tools to expedite test authoring, edge-case coverage, and suite maintenance.

• Analyze pipeline failures, identify flaky tests, and maintain the trustworthiness of suite execution.

• Oversee test data generation and manage test environments for suites under your responsibility.

• Record testing patterns, established best practices, and feature specifications as they develop.

• Engage in agile ceremonies and provide input in pull request reviews for test code.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in test automation.

• Practical project expertise with both Cypress and Playwright.

• Strong skills in JavaScript / TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience in API test automation.

• Proven ability to build or significantly enhance test frameworks and suites from the ground up.

• Strong commitment to an enablement mindset, empowering engineers to take ownership of quality.

• Keen exploratory instincts and comfort with defining expected behavior in low-documentation settings.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted test generation and maintenance of test suites.

• Solid understanding of the test pyramid and appropriate placement of end-to-end testing.

• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and continuous integration pipelines.

• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) at an upper-intermediate to advanced level.

• Ability to work with significant overlap to US Eastern Time (LATAM / EMEA locations).
