This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with functional leads, analysts, designers, and developers to clarify testing requirements.
• Review documentation to identify essential test scenarios and create both positive and negative test cases.
• Develop comprehensive manual and regression test cases while ensuring test plans are kept current.
• Prioritize and execute tests, promptly log defects, and verify fixes.
• Identify potential risks related to deadlines or quality early on and evaluate regression impact.
• Contribute to the formulation of test strategies, plans, and metrics to assess release readiness.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies including scrum meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior QA team members and advocate for best practices.
• Provide client support and training as necessary.
• Propose process enhancements, automation ideas, and cost-saving initiatives to boost testing efficiency.
• Execute QA tasks in accordance with established standards and procedures, delivering them in a timely manner.
• Participate in defining test strategies and plans while evaluating the QA impact of system changes.
• Support and conduct peer reviews of tasks performed by other QA resources.
• Over 4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to comprehend external customer requirements from a testing perspective.
• A curious, disciplined, and creative approach to problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills that are clear and constructive with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
• Demonstrated ownership and accountability; capable of delivering as promised and as scheduled.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Background in pension plan administration or the financial services industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) for test management and defect tracking is a plus.
• Basic comprehension of French is an asset; able to greet and understand simple instructions.
