This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promote a culture focused on patient safety, regulatory adherence, and ongoing quality enhancement throughout CVAUSA ASCs and OBLs.
• Collaborate with local leadership and the CVAUSA Quality and Safety Department to create and standardize quality and safety initiatives.
• Identify and address quality and safety deficiencies while aiding in survey preparedness.
• Monitor and analyze adverse events, near misses, and patient grievances; ensure proper reporting, escalation, and resolution processes are in place.
• Educate center staff and leadership on best practices in quality and safety, incident reporting, and peer review processes.
• Facilitate root cause analysis meetings and execute corrective action strategies.
• Create and distribute ongoing safety education materials and communications.
• Perform compliance gap analyses concerning CMS, state, and OSHA regulations; develop and track action plans accordingly.
• Conduct random audits to assess documentation quality and identify patterns necessitating correction or further training.
• Evaluate and enhance infection control programs while overseeing adherence to protocols.
• Coordinate with ASCs/OBLs regarding illness outbreaks and public health notifications.
• Ensure staff are trained on hazardous waste management, sharps safety, and other hazard controls.
• Facilitate continuous safety education and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish safety, accountability, and open reporting policies.
• Execute quarterly quality and safety benchmarking throughout the network.
• Monitor and assist with mandated quality studies at each center.
• Work alongside ASC/OBL leadership and the Quality & Value Committee to prioritize and advance improvement initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, risk management, or regulatory compliance, ideally within an ASC, OBL, or outpatient surgical environment.
• Proficient understanding of CMS Conditions for Coverage, state licensing stipulations, OSHA regulations, and standards from accreditation bodies (e.g., AAAHC, AAAASF, The Joint Commission).
• Experience in conducting audits, gap analyses, and/or mock surveys.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to train and influence staff across various locations.
• Preferred RN license or a clinical background.
• Certification in CASC, CPHQ, or CIC is preferred.
• Experience in working with a multi-site healthcare organization or management services organization (MSO).
• Familiarity with root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies.
• Knowledge of quality improvement frameworks, including Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, Lean, and/or Six Sigma.
• Experience in measuring quality performance, particularly in procedural care, and leveraging data to enhance performance.
• Willingness to travel regularly, with a travel expectation of 25–40%.
