QA Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of QA for Shopify theme and storefront projects from staging to launch across various engagements.

• Create and execute test passes for Liquid themes, sections, carts, checkout processes, discounts, and edge cases involving merchant content.

• Conduct testing for Checkout Extensibility, Shopify Functions, and custom app workflows.

• Produce clear bug reports detailing reproduction steps, expected versus actual behavior, browser/device used, and severity levels.

• Collaborate with Project Managers and developers on launch checklists, regression scopes, and go/no-go decisions.

• Leverage AI tools to draft test cases and bug notes, followed by verification of the results.

• Identify risks related to unstable theme forks, unsafe checkout modifications, or UAT content that could potentially disrupt production.

• Keep QA documentation and known-issue lists updated for seamless handoffs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience testing live Shopify themes and/or applications for actual merchants.

• Previous experience in an agency or multi-client environment is preferred.

• Proficient in testing Online Store 2.0 themes, carts, checkout processes, discounts, metafields, and common app installations.

• Experience with Checkout Extensibility and/or Shopify Functions is advantageous.

• Ability to document clear reproduction steps, assess severity, maintain regression discipline, and communicate effectively under pressure.

• Familiarity with browsers, mobile devices, staging stores, and ticketing systems such as Jira or Linear.

• Automation experience with tools like Playwright, Cypress, or similar is a plus, though not mandatory.

• Proficient in utilizing ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools for test design and bug documentation, with the capability to verify the output.

• English proficiency at C1 level or higher.

• Availability until approximately 5 PM EST for live launch coordination when necessary.

• Ability to make honest assessments of severity, flag blockers promptly, and complete launch passes efficiently.
