This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, implement, and take ownership of automated test suites across API, UI, and integration layers.
• Create reusable test frameworks that span multiple services and repositories.
• Refactor test code to enhance coverage, reliability, and execution speed.
• Collaborate with developers during the design and code review phases to instill quality from the outset.
• Establish test coverage standards and conduct gap analyses.
• Mentor junior QA engineers to foster growth and skill development.
• Manage and uphold QA stages within CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop quality gates for test pass rates, coverage thresholds, and static analysis.
• Integrate automated tests within development, staging, and production-mirror environments.
• Implement parallel and distributed test execution strategies.
• Monitor build health, address flaky tests, and resolve pipeline issues.
• Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure deployment confidence and rollback safety.
• Design and implement performance, load, and stress tests.
• Equip performance test environments using containerized infrastructure.
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs and validate systems under realistic load conditions.
• Construct and maintain Grafana dashboards for performance and resource analysis.
• Test Kafka throughput, partition lag, and failure recovery mechanisms.
• Analyze workflow orchestration pipelines and suggest optimizations.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD schedules or on a per-release basis.
• Build and maintain Playwright UI test suites for essential workflows and regression scenarios.
• Implement cross-browser and cross-platform UI testing within Dockerized environments.
• Develop visual regression tests.
• Integrate end-to-end UI tests into CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams to define acceptance criteria and automate scenarios.
• Develop test strategies for Kafka event-driven architecture.
• Ensure data integrity across MongoDB, ClickhouseDB, and streaming stores.
• Validate ML model outputs for accuracy, consistency, drift, and edge cases.
• Incorporate structured metrics and logs into test pipelines for Grafana and alerting.
• Validate TCP/IP, TR-069, and SNMP networking behavior and protocol compliance.
• Build Docker images for testing environments.
• Manage Ansible playbooks and roles for consistent environment provisioning.
• Contribute to AWS and GCP test infrastructure, including ephemeral environments.
• Ensure test environment reliability and differentiate environment failures from product defects.
• 3–5 years of practical software quality engineering experience in a professional software development setting.
• Strong Java programming expertise, including object-oriented design, concurrency, and debugging in Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficient in Python for test scripting, data validation, tooling, and automation workflows.
• Proven experience in managing automated test suites using JUnit, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent).
• Familiar with Docker — building images, managing containers, and executing tests in containerized environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP networking, distributed systems concepts, and multi-tiered application architectures.
• Experience in designing and executing performance or load tests and analyzing outcomes (latency, throughput, resource utilization).
• Familiarity with UI/E2E testing methodologies and tools.
• Experience working with NoSQL or columnar databases (MongoDB, ClickhouseDB, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills — capable of breaking down complex systems into testable components and clearly articulating risks.
• Excellent communication abilities in English (both written and verbal); capable of documenting test strategies and conveying findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and proactively assist others in overcoming obstacles.
• Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience in testing event-driven or streaming systems, particularly Apache Kafka.
• Preferred / Nice to Have: Familiarity with Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Argo Workflows.
• Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience creating or querying Grafana dashboards.
• Preferred / Nice to Have: Hands-on experience in validating ML/AI model outputs.

• Preferred / Nice to Have: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
