QA Lead – Social

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Lead the quality assurance strategy for the Social components of an unannounced competitive PvP game from production to its launch.

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the product from both player value and technical systems perspectives.

• Develop, maintain, and implement a comprehensive QA strategy for Social features across disciplines.

• Identify and address process and toolchain issues to resolve quality concerns proactively.

• Collaborate with engineering to create tooling and automation strategies that enhance product stability.

• Train and oversee external QA personnel.

• Partner with the QA Director to establish and uphold organization-wide quality assurance standards and methodologies.

• Work alongside Design, Production, Engineering, and Art teams to comprehend intricate Social systems.

• Create QA plans and strategies to guarantee a seamless game experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in technical testing for systems with limited player-facing interactions, including matchmaking, crossplay/cross save, and account entitlements.

• Capability to define QA strategies that incorporate business, project, and system requirements.

• Proficiency in understanding game systems and designing effective test coverage.

• Skill in negotiating, ratifying, and driving plans with leads from various disciplines.

• Awareness of risks, constraints, business needs, and player value, along with the ability to adapt plans as necessary.

• Experience in directing external Test or QA personnel.

• Familiarity with social gaming experiences such as matchmaking, friends, clans, chat systems, and trust and safety features.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.

• A degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or related fields is considered a plus.
