QA Lead – Manual & Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the QA strategy for both maintenance and delivery processes.

• Transform manual and automated testing coverage into a dependable, risk-based quality methodology.

• Establish automation architecture, release checkpoints, traceability, and quality benchmarks.

• Enhance release confidence within a complex and regulated software environment.

• Design and sustain software solutions across a diverse technology stack.

• Guarantee that products are functional, efficient, reliable, and scalable.

• Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, Data, clients, and delivery teams.

• Report on release readiness, risks, defects, and quality trends through client-facing communications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in managing end-to-end QA strategies for both manual and automated testing.

• Proven ability to define test coverage, quality benchmarks, and testing methodologies in complex software settings.

• Practical experience with test case management tools such as TestMo, TestRail, Zephyr, qTest, or similar.

• Significant experience in designing and developing test automation architectures, including framework selection, structure, scalability, and maintainability.

• Hands-on experience with API testing, including REST APIs, authentication processes, and contract validation.

• Demonstrated expertise in defining regression testing strategies and quality gates for releases.

• Strong background in defect management, including frameworks for severity and priority, triage processes, and effective collaboration with engineering teams.

• Experience in defining and implementing the Definition of Done and quality acceptance criteria in partnership with clients and delivery teams.

• Capability to deliver clear, client-facing quality reports that communicate release readiness, risks, defects, and quality trends.

• Experience in establishing quality traceability and testing evidence in regulated, compliance-focused, or audited environments.

• Familiarity with Playwright or similar modern test automation frameworks is highly desirable.

• Understanding of the fundamentals of performance and security testing.

• Knowledge of data pipeline testing and automated data testing frameworks such as dbt.

• Experience in building or significantly enhancing a QA practice, particularly in environments with limited existing automation coverage.

• Ability to evaluate large existing manual test suites and progressively implement an effective, maintainable automation strategy.

• Strong sense of ownership and a quality-focused mindset.

• Excellent leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, Data, and client stakeholders.

• Proficient in professional English communication, with the ability to convey quality decisions and risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
