This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Assess, audit, and oversee the QA processes executed by our external development vendor across all three product lines.
• Set QA standards, entry and exit criteria, and acceptance gates that the vendor must fulfill prior to code being handed off for independent verification.
• Monitor vendor QA metrics (test coverage, defect escape rates, automation health) and escalate issues to engineering leadership.
• Collaborate with the vendor's QA leads on test plan assessments, defect triage, and process enhancements.
• Recruit, hire, and manage a small in-house QA team tasked with independent verification of all GCH product releases.
• Define the team's structure, role descriptions, and career development paths for QA engineers and QA automation engineers.
• Establish onboarding, training, and documentation protocols for the team.
• Own the comprehensive QA strategy across SCR, UBID, and RBM, which includes functional, regression, integration, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop and sustain a test automation framework encompassing API, UI, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Lead release readiness evaluations and approve production deployments.
• Coordinate testing for third-party integrations, including identity and verification partners like Aegis, billing infrastructure (Chargebee, Stripe), and other identity providers.
• Choose, implement, and maintain QA tools for test management, defect tracking, automation, and reporting.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Create dashboards and reports that provide engineering and executive leadership with clear insights into product quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Operations to align quality priorities with business objectives.
• Assist with SLA reporting commitments to CTIA and other contractual partners.
• Participate in incident response and post-incident evaluations when quality issues are identified as root causes.
• Over 5 years of progressive QA experience, including more than 2 years in a QA leadership position.
• Experience managing QA work conducted by an external or offshore development vendor.
• Proven track record of establishing and managing in-house QA teams from the ground up.
• Practical experience in test automation across API and web application layers (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman/Newman, REST Assured).
• Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS, including services such as API Gateway, RDS, Cognito, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and incorporating automated testing into deployment workflows.
• Experience with SaaS and B2B platforms functioning under contractual SLAs.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical quality data into clear narratives for executives, customers, and regulators.
