This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and implement test strategies and test cases for the platform and customer project deployments.
• Conduct functional, regression, usability, cross-browser, responsive, integration, end-to-end, and API testing.
• Perform incremental testing during the development phase and verify release candidates prior to deployment.
• Assist customers with User Acceptance Testing and address high-priority issues before the launch.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using JavaScript or TypeScript with Playwright or Cypress.
• Suggest and establish testing tools in collaboration with engineers.
• Define the expected output for the AI content-migration pipeline and assess AI-generated records against the original content.
• Monitor items handled by the pipeline in comparison to manual work.
• Validate the accuracy, structure, and metadata quality of migrated municipal content.
• Assess web accessibility and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Identify, document, and manage defects in Jira.
• Work collaboratively with leadership, design, development teams, customers, and colleagues on issue resolution and quality-driven delivery.
• Establish the QA function and related processes as the inaugural dedicated QA hire.
• Over 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
• Experience in manually testing web applications and website frontends, as well as backend APIs, both manually and through automation.
• Proficient in using Playwright or Cypress.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
• SQL skills for performing database checks.
• Ability to read and debug JavaScript, NodeJS, and ReactJS code, and create testing tools and scripts.
• Understanding of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 AA+ standards, along with experience in testing for accessibility compliance.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficient written communication.
• Enthusiasm for utilizing AI tools to enhance testing coverage and quality, coupled with the ability to critically evaluate AI outputs.
• A university degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience and certifications.
• Candidates located outside British Columbia must have a majority of their work hours overlap with the team’s schedule.
• Candidates must reside in Canada.
• Bonus: Experience in testing integrations and embedded third-party systems.
• Bonus: Experience in performance testing using JMeter and Google Lighthouse.
• Bonus: Familiarity with web application, API, or cloud security testing.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Bonus: Knowledge of headless or composable content management systems.
• Bonus: Certifications such as ISTQB, CSQA, CSTE, or those related to accessibility.
• Bonus: Experience in government-related or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Part-time position requiring 20 hours per week.
• Flexible 4-day workweek (Monday–Thursday).
• Flexible working hours within the team’s 9am–7pm PT schedule.
