QA Engineer, Manual, Web Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct end-to-end testing of new features across frontend, backend, APIs, and third-party integrations.

• Perform regression testing prior to releases and execute smoke testing in production following each release.

• Confirm business and technical requirements with Product and Engineering teams before the development phase begins.

• Analyze defects utilizing logs, API responses, and network traffic data.

• Create clear and reproducible bug reports.

• Serve as the initial support contact for Monetization, Finance, and Product Tech inquiries.

• Replicate issues, evaluate their severity, and escalate them with accurate information.

• Keep test documentation updated in TestRail, Jira, and Confluence.

• Work in conjunction with the Automation QA team to identify cases suitable for automation.

• Take ownership of platform functionality quality in a fast-paced startup environment characterized by short iterations and frequent releases.

• Identify root causes, communicate effectively, and contribute to the enhancement of QA processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in manual QA for web applications, covering frontend, backend, and API testing.

• Proficient in risk-based test design.

• Experience in API testing using Postman / Charles as well as Swagger / OpenAPI.

• Skills in root cause analysis using Chrome DevTools, including HAR, network, storage, and logs.

• Practical experience in feature, regression, and production smoke testing throughout the entire release cycle.

• Regular utilization of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or equivalent, with a critical review of outputs.

• Background in a product company or startup with a high frequency of releases.

• Competence in written English sufficient for documentation and bug reporting purposes.

• Demonstrated ownership and transparent communication; ability to raise risks and delays proactively.

• Nice to have: experience in payments and subscriptions testing, including Chargebee, Adapty, Payrails, trials, taxes, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

• Nice to have: experience with web funnels and A/B experiments.

• Nice to have: skills in analytics event validation using Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and GTM dataLayer.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Datadog / Grafana.

• Nice to have: experience in testing AI-powered features.

• Nice to have: basic knowledge of Playwright / TypeScript.
