QA Engineer – ATM Acquiring, Payment Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive testing of end-to-end payment processing flows across APIs and ISO 8583 messages, covering authorizations, reversals, error handling, reconciliation, clearing, and settlement.

• Execute both manual and automated testing on the processing platform, ATM middleware, HSM/RKL, acquiring, anti-fraud systems, and core banking integrations.

• Assist with UAT, payment scheme certification, release validation, and monitor post-release activities.

• Create, maintain, and execute test cases for functional, integration, regression, certification, and release testing.

• Assess transaction flows, business rules, message fields, response codes, data consistency, and failure scenarios.

• Develop and uphold automated tests for APIs and other relevant components of the processing platform.

• Draft structured test plans, test documentation, and ensure traceability to business and payment scheme requirements.

• Coordinate UAT and certification testing activities with external processing vendors and payment schemes.

• Clearly document defects, verify fixes, and identify root-cause patterns across transaction processing flows.

• Oversee testing activities from initial planning through to release and certification sign-off.

• Maintain testing tasks and documentation within Jira and Confluence.

• Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, compliance, and operations teams.

• Monitor production stability following releases and assist in transaction and incident investigations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer, QA Automation Engineer, or SDET in fintech, banking, or payment processing sectors.

• Proven experience in testing complex system integrations, preferably involving processors, switches, payment networks, or ATM, POS, and e-commerce acquiring.

• Familiarity with ISO 8583 and the payment transaction lifecycle, including authorization, reversals, reconciliation, clearing, and settlement.

• Understanding of UAT and certification processes relevant to payment systems.

• Strong practical experience with API testing and test automation tools.

• Proficient SQL skills for transaction investigation, data analysis, and validation.

• Experience in integration, regression, end-to-end, and release testing.

• Knowledge of GitLab, GitOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

• A methodical approach to testing and the capability to take complete ownership of quality-related tasks.

• Proficient in English at a B2 level or above, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Solid understanding of acquiring, payment processing, and the issuer–acquirer–scheme model.

• Practical experience with HSM, Remote Key Loading, or core banking integrations.

• Familiarity with performance and load-testing tools.

• Understanding of microservice architectures, AWS, EKS, and production monitoring.

• Experience conducting certification testing for Visa, Mastercard, BancNet, or other payment schemes.

• Experience in testing ATM, POS, or e-commerce acquiring solutions.
