This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create and implement comprehensive automated tests for trading logic using real exchanges.

• Ensure coverage for REST, WebSocket, FIX, and binary SBE protocols.

• Analyze incidents and test failures to determine root causes through logs, ClickHouse data, Rust platform code, and exchange behavior.

• Collaborate with AI agents that provide data and hypotheses.

• Validate software releases by managing extensive test runs across multiple exchanges.

• Report well-documented bugs and enhance the stability of flaky tests.

• Develop and oversee test infrastructure and tools.

• Create fault-injection capabilities utilizing an in-house MITM proxy.

• Build test trading bots in Python and support Kotlin services.

• Manage environments, configurations, and integrations.

• Oversee CI and test environments.

• Monitor automation metrics to inform quality-related decisions.

• Work collaboratively within a dedicated product team of SDETs and core developers.

• Engage with a Rust trading platform that processes real orders and transactions across crypto and traditional exchanges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in test automation or backend development in Kotlin/Java, or a similarly typed language with a willingness to transition to Kotlin.

• Proficient in SQL and familiar with analytical databases at scale; experience with ClickHouse is an advantage.

• Solid understanding of REST and WebSocket protocols.

• Experience with FIX or binary protocols is a plus, with the capability to interpret raw messages.

• Familiarity with gRPC/protobuf, Docker, and GitLab CI/Jenkins pipelines.

• Linux administration skills, including deployment, systemd, networking, and diagnostics via SSH in test environments.

• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Loki/Prometheus, or similar.

• Regular use of agentic AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.

• Capability to delegate tasks, write prompts/skills, integrate tools via MCP, and critically assess model outputs.

• Ability to independently navigate a codebase and identify fixes or bugs.

• Nice to have: experience in trading, exchange integrations, or fintech.

• Nice to have: understanding of market microstructure, including order books, TIF, post-only, funding, and margin.

• Experience with Rust or a willingness to learn it.

• Proficient in Python for developing test bots and scripting.

• Familiarity with mocking/proxy tools such as Ktor, Netty, mitmproxy, or WireMock.

• Experience with Ansible and maintaining test environments.

• Knowledge of multi-agent systems, orchestration, agent-output verification, and knowledge bases.
