QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites in alignment with business requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web applications throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Create and manage automated test scripts for essential business workflows and regression scenarios.

• Perform API testing to verify requests, responses, integrations, error handling, and overall system functionality.

• Detect, document, reproduce, and track defects with clear evidence and actionable insights.

• Confirm bug fixes and conduct targeted regression testing to guarantee application stability.

• Engage in defect triage and assist in prioritizing issues based on their impact, severity, and release risk.

• Support beta testing phases and validate feedback from users and stakeholders.

• Assist in System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by providing final validation and sign-off.

• Collaborate with developers, Product teams, and stakeholders to ensure quality goals are achieved.

• Maintain testing documentation and offer visibility into execution status, defects, risks, and obstacles.

• Manage testing deliverables independently within an established QA strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or related positions.

• Strong practical experience with functional and regression testing of web applications.

• Experience in building, maintaining, and executing automated test suites for web applications.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools.

• Practical experience in testing REST APIs, including requests, responses, status codes, error scenarios, and integrations.

• Experience in independently designing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on requirements and acceptance criteria.

• Solid understanding of defect lifecycle management.

• Experience in performing integration and system testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Experience in Agile environments.

• Ability to independently execute and manage assigned QA tasks.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Knowledge of accessibility testing and familiarity with WCAG.

• Experience in supporting System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Experience in validating complex integrations or multi-system workflows.

• Familiarity with CI/CD-integrated testing practices.

• Experience working with distributed Agile/Scrum teams.

• Experience in supporting beta releases and validating user feedback cycles.

• Basic SQL and database validation experience.

• Experience in testing responsive and cross-browser web applications.
