Python Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Lead a team effectively.

• Assume complete responsibility for backend features and enhancements, overseeing the entire process from design to implementation, deployment, and production support.

• Create, develop, and sustain scalable, high-performance backend services utilizing Python and Django.

• Establish and maintain integrations with external systems, including KYC, geolocation, payment partners, and other third-party services.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and implement new integrations.

• Implement observability measures across integration flows, which encompass monitoring, logging, and alerting.

• Develop unit and integration tests to guarantee system reliability, prevent regressions, and enhance overall test coverage and testing methodologies.

• Address production issues and engage in on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of at least 3 engineers.

• Minimum of 5+ years of development experience, primarily with Python, and substantial proficiency in API and system integrations.

• Demonstrated experience in integrating third-party APIs, with a comprehensive understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure management.

• Familiarity with observability tools for monitoring and troubleshooting production integrations.

• Strong foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency.

• Experience in architectural design for highly loaded and scalable solutions.

• Deep comprehension of the complete software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and production monitoring.

• Background in early-stage startups and dynamic engineering settings.

• Proficient in writing automated tests, assessing test coverage, and formulating test automation strategies.

• Experience with observability tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana.

• Familiarity with the sports/betting industries is a plus.

• Knowledge of payments and KYC integrations is highly advantageous.
