Team Lead, Python – Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assume complete responsibility for the planning and execution of technical roadmap initiatives.

• Guide backend, full stack, and QA engineers; coordinate daily tasks to ensure consistent delivery.

• Enhance estimation precision and minimize delays.

• Strategize work for the upcoming quarter and assist in overarching multi-quarter planning alongside the Director of Data & AI and the Product Manager.

• Maintain and frequently assess the technical risks registry while proactively managing risks.

• Streamline data collection methods, data pipelines, performance, and system dependability.

• Propel the modernization of outdated services, improve architecture, and alleviate technical debt.

• Partner with product managers, solution architects, and other teams to prioritize and align efforts.

• Ensure comprehensive documentation, visibility, and knowledge dissemination within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in Python, particularly with high-performance data systems like StarRocks.

• At least 2 years in a position with technical leadership duties (team leader, tech lead, etc.).

• Proven experience in planning, estimating, and delivering complex projects, including database migrations.

• Extensive knowledge of data lakehouse architectures.

• Familiarity with data collection and data scraping techniques.

• Strong grasp of performance optimization and scalability principles.

• Confident in making impactful business decisions.

• Capable of working under high-pressure delivery scenarios and managing trade-offs effectively.

• B1+ proficiency in English.
