Python Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Lead a team with effective leadership skills.

• Assume complete responsibility for backend features and enhancements from the design phase to implementation, deployment, and production support.

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, high-performance backend services leveraging Python and Django.

• Create and maintain integrations with KYC, geolocation, payment, and various third-party services.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define and deliver new integrations.

• Implement observability within integration processes, encompassing monitoring, logging, and alerting.

• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure reliability, prevent regressions, and enhance test coverage and practices.

• Assist with production issues and engage in on-call rotations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of at least three engineers.

• Minimum of 5+ years of development experience, with Python as the primary language and strong expertise in API and system integrations.

• Demonstrated experience in integrating third-party APIs.

• Comprehensive understanding of webhooks, callbacks, idempotency, and failure handling.

• Familiarity with observability tools for monitoring and troubleshooting production integrations.

• Solid foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency.

• Experience in designing architectures for high-load and scalable solutions.

• Strong comprehension of the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production monitoring.

• Background in early-stage startups and fast-paced engineering settings.

• Proficiency in writing automated tests, assessing test coverage, and establishing test automation strategies.

• Experience with observability tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana.

• Background in the sports/betting industries is a plus.

• Strong advantage for experience in payments and KYC integrations.
