Python API Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust RESTful APIs utilizing Python.

• Construct backend services with FastAPI or Flask.

• Integrate external services and third-party APIs.

• Work with both relational and NoSQL databases while optimizing queries.

• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, and API security measures.

• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code.

• Conduct API testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.

• Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.

• Engage in code reviews and adhere to development best practices.

• Enhance API performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for APIs and backend services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Python backend/API development.

• Strong expertise in Python programming.

• Practical experience with FastAPI or Flask REST Framework.

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, including HTTP methods, status codes, JSON, and API design.

• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Good knowledge of SQL and database architecture.

• Proficient with Git/GitHub version control.

• Familiar with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.

• Understanding of JWT/OAuth2 authentication protocols.

• Knowledge of unit testing and API testing methodologies.

• Good grasp of SDLC and coding best practices.

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

• Background in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services.

• Familiarity with Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka messaging systems.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipeline development.

• Experience in microservices architecture.

• Proficient in Linux and basic deployment practices.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
