This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Provide support to a client in the real estate and housing industry during a brief, time-limited Data Governance and Data Catalogue project.
• Evaluate and enhance the client's current Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog.
• Rapidly grasp the existing configuration and expedite delivery from the outset.
• Examine the client's data warehouse and source systems, including its CRM, to integrate technical metadata and lineage into Purview.
• Establish and populate governance domains.
• Organize data assets, glossary terms, and ownership within each domain.
• Develop and sustain the business glossary.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to finalize definitions and responsibilities.
• Designate suitable owners and stewards across domains and assets.
• Implement classifications such as Public, Internal, Private, and PII.
• Enhance the structure and quality of the current catalogue.
• Assist with metadata, lineage, and governance initiatives.
• Partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure catalogue content is precise and functional.
• Propel the existing Purview implementation and provide the client with a well-structured and usable data catalogue.
• Recent, hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog.
• Strong background in building and curating data catalogues.
• Familiarity with data domains, assets, business glossaries, ownership, and stewardship.
• Practical experience in metadata management.
• Knowledge of data lineage and source-system scanning.
• Proficiency in applying data classifications such as Public, Internal, Private, and PII.
• Experience collaborating directly with Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Capability to work with business stakeholders to establish definitions, ownership, and governance.
• Solid understanding of Data Governance and Metadata Management.
• Ability to swiftly comprehend an existing Purview environment and speed up delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Capacity to work autonomously and achieve measurable results within a short engagement.
• Proven recent hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog.
• Experience in curating a data catalogue, rather than merely configuring scans.
• Familiarity with business glossaries, metadata, data domains, and data assets.
• Experience with data ownership and stewardship.
• Understanding of data classification and PII.
• Knowledge of data lineage and technical metadata.
• Experience working alongside Data Owners, Data Stewards, and business stakeholders.
• Strong expertise in Data Governance.
• Ability to work independently within an existing enterprise environment.
• Candidates must possess recent Microsoft Purview Unified Catalog experience.
• Purview experience primarily centered on compliance, DLP, or Information Protection is not suitable.
• Desirable: Experience presenting catalogue content outside of Purview.
• Desirable: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.
• Desirable: Experience creating catalogue experiences using Power BI or Fabric apps.
• Desirable: Ability to convey technical catalogue information in clear business language.
• Desirable: Experience scanning CRM and data warehouse sources into Purview.
