This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Identify and assess suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery performance, and technical expertise.

• Initiate requests for quotations (RFQs) and negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial conditions.

• Acquire materials for prototypes, production, and various business requirements.

• Oversee inventory levels, material needs, open purchase orders, and supplier obligations.

• Recognize shortages and ensure continuous supply.

• Manage purchase orders from inception to delivery, including expediting, rescheduling, or canceling orders.

• Address supply chain risks such as shortages, prolonged lead times, allocation limitations, price fluctuations, and component obsolescence.

• Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, and compliance.

• Assist with engineering modifications, supplier transitions, and product lifecycle management.

• Keep precise purchasing and supplier data within the ERP system.

• Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to enhance procurement processes, supplier performance, and overall supply chain efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain within a manufacturing context.

• A degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.

• Proficiency in interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and technical specifications.

• Comprehensive understanding of electronic components and associated supply risks, including lead times, allocation, obsolescence, and product lifecycle management.

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems.

• Intermediate skills in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and adapt swiftly to changing requirements.

• Ability to foster collaborative relationships and navigate difficult conversations.
