Public Policy Manager – MENA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Monitor and evaluate policy matters in the MENA region concerning risks of on-platform harm across the entire Meta Family of Apps (FoAs)

• Identify emerging risks and trends for the Public Policy team to facilitate proactive interventions

• Manage incoming content-related requests from external partners throughout the region

• Collaborate with pertinent internal teams to follow up and resolve issues

• Raise concerns or unresolved matters to sub-regional heads or designated country Points of Contact (PoCs)

• Ensure accurate documentation, closure, and external communication for each case

• Assist MENA Policy Stakeholders in addressing access issues to FoAs

• Handle account escalations from external partners, including verification and account ownership, triaging, follow-ups, and case resolution

• Bring persistent issues to the attention of sub-regional heads or country PoCs

• Maintain the team's calendar, incorporating offsite dates, leave schedules, and significant regional events

• Coordinate with the Strategy & Operations team regarding budgetary matters to guarantee compliance and efficiency

• Oversee contracts, invoicing, and quarterly budget reporting for the team

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, politics, international relations, economics, or a related discipline

• 1-2 years of professional experience in policy, technology, or a comparable field

• Awareness of technological policy matters such as AI, privacy, and online safety

• Comprehension of social, cultural, and political systems along with policy institutions in the MENA region

• Exceptional communication and persuasive skills in both English and Arabic

• Capability to work collaboratively within a matrix environment

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities

• Background in policy, operations, or content moderation within technology or social media platforms

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and manage sensitive issues with confidentiality

• Familiarity with the MENA region and its policy landscape is advantageous
