This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Evaluate adolescent and adult patients, or individuals across all age groups, based on their presenting symptoms and concerns.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and differentiate between physiologically and psychologically based conditions.
• Provide individual psychotherapy for both chronic and acute mental health disorders.
• Request diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while informing patients about the associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication adherence, side effects, and the effectiveness of treatment.
• Assess patient behavior and their response to therapeutic interventions.
• Effectively manage challenging patients and utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate, execute, and assess treatment plans.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health issues, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Maintain documentation of medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and schedule follow-up appointments and ongoing treatments.
• Conduct patient visits and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Adhere to HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies in practice.
• Seek guidance from recommended references and Clinical or Medical Directors for clinical advice as required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently holds a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license.
• Experience in both addiction and mental health fields.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
• Proficient in Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health support and/or severe mental illness treatment.
• Comfortable working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledgeable in mental health diagnoses and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
• Experienced in treatment planning.
• Capable of conducting and applying comprehensive assessments.
• Skilled in timely, quality documentation and familiarity with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth platforms; comfortable with using video communication tools.
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship or renewal.
• For clinicians licensed in Florida or New York, an active DEA registration is mandatory and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 employment.
• Monday–Friday work schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts required.
