This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as designated.
• Assess patients’ mental and physical conditions based on their reported symptoms and concerns.
• Identify psychiatric disorders and mental health issues.
• Differentiate between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders and diagnose accordingly.
• Conduct individual psychotherapy for patients experiencing chronic or acute mental health disorders.
• Order necessary diagnostic tests such as EKGs and laboratory work.
• Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, while educating patients on associated risks, benefits, and side effects.
• Monitor medication usage, side effects, and treatment outcomes.
• Assess patient behavior and their responses to treatment.
• De-escalate challenging patient interactions verbally when required.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to create, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Inform patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment strategies, and medications.
• Record medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
• Complete necessary administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms.
• Organize and manage follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment requirements.
• Conduct patient visits and maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, national care standards, and internal policies.
• Utilize recommended resources and seek clinical guidance from the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Currently possesses a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP).
• Experience in Addiction and Mental Health care.
• Open to obtaining further state licenses.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques.
• Willingness to collaborate with clients to achieve their goals.
• Experience working with adults requiring general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment.
• Comfortable working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13 and older).
• Knowledgeable about mental health diagnoses and/or substance abuse dual-diagnoses.
• Proficiency in treatment planning.
• Capable of conducting and utilizing comprehensive assessments.
• Demonstrates timely and quality documentation; experienced with EHR systems.
• Adaptable to technology, including telehealth software; proficient in video communication.
• Aware of and compliant with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Eligible to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or work eligibility assistance will be provided.
• For clinicians with a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is mandatory and must be maintained by the clinician.
• Proficiency in Spanish and other languages is preferred and considered a plus.
• Previous telehealth experience is advantageous.
• Prior experience in the Community Mental Health sector is preferred.
• Full-time salaried position with W2 status.
• Monday to Friday work schedule; no on-call or weekend shifts.
• Available shifts: 9am-6pm ET, 10am-7pm ET, 11am-8pm ET.
